Over the past month or so, we've gotten a lot of Christmas music submissions. It seemed like an appropriate time to share some of those with you. They range from straightforward covers of classics to interesting interpretations to originals – some of which address the stressful or unpleasant aspects of the holiday. Have a listen and more importantly, have a happy holidays! Whatever it is you celebrate, all the best to you from all of us at Those Who Dig!
Before we get to the new stuff, I just want to offer two Christmas songs I really like, one from each end of the spectrum. My favorite Christmas movie is The Muppet Christmas Carol. Watching it always gets me in the spirit and fits in to the whole sentimental / joyous vibe of the holiday. Here's "It Feels Like Christmas."
Warm and fuzzy right? I also happen to really like this song by Poly Styrene, whom we unfortunately lost earlier this year (RIP). It's called "Black Christmas" and it's not exactly joyful. But the song is so, so awesome, I just love the reggae groove and the melodies.
