Friends of the Dig, The Delphines, recorded a Daytrotter Session a few months back. It went live yesterday! I’m going to be honest. I’ve never been a Daytrotter member, but if there was every a reason to break that drought this might be it.
I was lucky enough to catch the final 3/4 of a Delphines show last Saturday night at the Cactus Club. These guys are electric. This last time around I noticed more vocal balance, and more musical diversity out of the Milwaukee based quartet. It isn’t hard to realize why they are getting songs picked up by TV shows like The League, and being asked to record super cool things like Daytrotter Sessions. I’ve embedded their single Careless for your auditory pleasure. You can stream, download, and buy all their music over on the Delphines Bandcamp Page. They are also on Facebook, and I’m sure would LOVE it if you “liked” their page. Go ahead, I’ll wait.

I also may or may not have heard that they are working on a full length album that we can all start getting real excited for, but you didn’t hear that from me, capiche?
Ruminations on Daytrotter
As I mentioned earlier I’m excited about Daytrotter. I’ll write a post soon about my experience as a first time member, and my thoughts on the very interesting and ambitious business strategy of Daytrotter. It seems like they are creating exclusivity in a time where music files can by copied limitless times with no quality degradation (It is hard for me to not stay up until 4am writing this article now.)
Until then head on over to Daytrotter and check out The Delphines Daytrotter Session. You have to admit that they make great looking cartoon characters. While you’re there check out some of the other past session artists. Some of the biggest names in music, truly hallowed ground that our beloved Delphines are treading.
