As you can tell, the Deli Magazine is prominently involved, and I want to give them a shout out for their amazing schedule infographic. Check it out here.
Last year, I went to the New Zealand Showcase. The event returns to Le Poisson Rouge on 10/16. Also at that venue, NPR Music will be presenting a showcase on 10/17.
Since I enjoyed the NZ event so much, the France Rocks Showcase sounds like a lot of fun. It takes place at the Union Square Ballroom on 10/16. The lineup includes the band Juveniles. Check out the video for their song "We Are Young"
Also at the Union Square Ballroom on 10/17 will be the Slimstyle Records Showcase. The lineup will include The Hounds Below. You can hear the single "Chelsea's Calling" here.
Another Dig favorite, Andrew WK, will be doing a variety of things throughout the festival. 10/15 is a special DJ set at the Conflict of Interest kickoff at Rebel, 10/18 is a panel discussion at the Kimmel Center at NYU, 10/19 is a DJ set at Santos Party House, and 10/20, he'll be judging the Soul Clap Dance-Off contest at Brooklyn Bowl.
Pile will be playing the Exploding In Sound-Gimme Tinnitus Showcase on 10/20 at Paperbox.
Crash Avenue is a great PR & Management company with a lot of great bands (including the above mentioned Holy Ghost Tent Revival). Many will be at CMJ, you can get the full listing with details here.
Ringodeathstarr will be playing the last night of the festival, 10/20, at Ding Dong Lounge, plus performing through the weekend at Shea Stadium on 10/21 and a Monday night 10/22 show at the Cake Shop.
Hope all of you NYC readers can check out the Marathon, it's going to be a lot of fun!
