It's
time for another installment of my series on the music of Freaks and Geeks, one of my favorite TV shows. This week is about the third episode, "Tricks and Treats," which has some great costumes (Bionic Woman, anyone?) and uses a Cheap Trick song in an interesting way.
In anticipation of their debut EP, Little Daylight has released their third original single "Glitter and Gold."
Last month, I went to Nitehawk Cinema for the latest in their Music Driven series, done in partnership with Noisey. They showed Todd Haynes' film Velvet Goldmine. It is loosely based on David Bowie and it was very interesting. Musician Nathan Larson of Shudder to Think was there for a Q&A – he helped create original music – and from him, I learned some new things.
