Last month, we put on our third Those Who Dig showcase in New York City. It was at Muchmore's and featured Beat Radio, The Pine Hollows, and Hey Anna. It was a great show. Check out our recap, complete with photos.
We first heard Aly Tadros a few months ago in advance of her latest album The Fits. She has put out a new track called "Whim." It's a collaboration with Ben Balmer and it's really good.
We've dug the music of Lady Lazarus (recording name of Melissa Ann Sweat) ever since we heard her debut album Mantic. She released a new album a few months ago called All My Love In Half Light and you should check it out.
Nitehawk Cinema and Noisey have teamed up for a cool monthly film series called “Music Driven,” which screens movies about music. The very first installment took place last Sunday with a showing of the film A Skin Too Few, a documentary about Nick Drake. Besides the interesting film, there was a Q&A with Nick’s producer Joe Boyd and a performance by musician Jesse Harris. I like Nick Drake but have never totally plunged into his catalog or read much about him, so it was an enlightening experience. Here are five things I learned.

We are very happy to unveil the first video session & interview for the Brooklyn Headsets project. This is a series of live performances filmed on a deck with a view in Greenpoint, Brooklyn recorded using headphones. You can expect to see many more of these videos through this spring, summer, and fall, as I am the interviewer for each session. It all starts today with singer-songwriter John Brodeur.
