It was almost two years ago to the day that my parents told me about a band that I HAD to see, David Wax Museum. For various reasons I missed their shows when they were near. I finally saw them at Linneman’s Riverwest Inn and was blow away. I have only seen them once since and was equally impressed. That is the show I picked up Everything is Saved. I think it is fitting that this will be my first true album review on Those Who Dig.

Read More...I can’t believe I have gone so long without ever watching these videos. I’m going to break down the premise for you, and then just leave you to watch and make your own conclusions. The Possum Posse, an Austin Texas based bluegrass band, is at fault here. They basically took a film from the 70s, re-cut it up, and then wrote concept music to accompany the visuals. The result is as awesome as it is hillarious. With no further hesitation I bring you, in four parts, Guy On a Buffalo.
Read More...I still honestly believe that Gillian Welch And David Rawlings live at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee is the best musical performance I have ever seen. The two were electric. Between their stage presence and the quality of the musicianship the audience was so captivated you could hear a pin drop. Luckily my addiction got another fix when this video of Dave Rawlings Machine covering the Led Zeppelin classic Going to California landed on my desk.
Read More...Lake Street Dive, the blossoming quartet from Brooklyn, is about to release a new album, Bad Self Portraits. If you are unfamiliar with the group you owe it to yourself to check them out. Their sound is both timeless and modern. Spot on, funky, jazzy instrumentals and crystal clear, powerful vocals shoot them to the top of my current touring bands to see.

The Up and Under Pub will play host to two Wisconsin acts, The Evergreen Grass Band (Eau Clair, Wisconsin) and Pay The Devil (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) will take the stage starting at 9pm and play into the wee hours of the morning.
